Your taste, in a form your agent can read.
Moodfile lives in your Mac's menu bar. You save what you love, it works out why, and your coding agent asks for it over MCP while it builds.
01Save
Hit ⌥⇧1 on anything you'd steal.
Drag over any part of your screen: a site, an app, a frame of a video. It saves the moment you let go, with a toast and an ID, and you keep working.
- ⌥⇧1Capture a region of your screen
- ⌥⇧2Save your clipboard: an image, a link, or an X post
- DragDrop images straight into the library
For links it reads the page's real fonts, sizes and spacing, and every reference keeps its source.
1128 × 64502Tag
It lands in your library, already read.
Each save is tagged in the background: what kind of screen it is, its colours, its fonts and sizes, its layout, and the one move worth stealing. Search it later the way you remember it, like "dark dashboard" or "pricing with a black card".

03MOODFILE.md
Your style, written down.
Moodfile keeps a plain Markdown file that sums up your references: the ground, the type, the colours and what to avoid. It updates as you save. Linked projects get a copy and CLAUDE.md points to it, so even agents that only read files follow your taste. You can also export a Cursor rule.
# MOODFILE.md Taste profile from 455 references. ## Style - Ground: white, hairlines #ECECEF - Ink #111113. Orange #FF5B1F only as a spark - Pixel-art landscapes behind the product - Headlines: Inter Tight 500, -0.045em - Buttons: black pills - Numbers: mono, grey decimals ## Avoid - Cream pages, serif headlines - Purple gradients, emoji, uppercase labels
04Connect
Any agent that speaks MCP.
Connect Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Windsurf or Zed once. The connection is private to your account, so cloud agents can use it too. Then your agent asks for the right references by itself, for the screen it's building.
$ claude mcp add --transport http moodfile …
| Tool | What your agent gets |
|---|---|
search_references | References that match what it's building, like "landing page" or "dashboard" |

05Build
And it builds like your bookmarks.
Same prompt, same model. Without Moodfile, Claude Code reached for its usual cream page and serif headline. With three saved references and MOODFILE.md, it built a page that follows them, and said which reference each section came from.
